How long is a piece of string?

In Maths, this week, we are practicing measuring using different units.

Some of us have been outside measuring in m and cm.

We decided that instructions were easier to follow if they had pictures, so a few of us had a go at making a comic strip with some of the classes 'best bits'. We think they're pretty cool!

European Languages Day

We had great fun practicing our French with some Sixth Form visitors as part of our European Language Day.

Mummification!

What do you think of our mummified bananas? It wasn't quite as easy as we thought it would be! Unsurprisingly, we're not sure we would like the job of an embalmer but watch this space for instructions you can follow at home.

The Beasties!

This week, in English, we have used a story called The Beasties by Jenny Nimmo to give us some inspiration for our own stories. We designed our own beasties after playing some creative games to give us ideas. Fortunately, our beasties were all friendly and became the heroes of our stories!

Here are a few examples of our work and some of our peer assessment.

Magnificent Mummies!

We have started thinking about our History topic; Ancient Egypt! We talked about when and where the Ancient Egyptians lived and made some mummies... We decided that bandages must have been much stronger than the materials we were using!
